- Abstract
The article "You Shall Be the Sea and Become a Forest - On a New Aesthetics of Oneness" by Johanna Zorn deals with the aesthetic concept of atmosphere and its significance for contemporary theater. Productions such as "La Mer Sombre" and "Die Ruhe" are discussed as examples of inclusive atmospheres and the concept of "entanglement" in aesthetics. The text emphasizes the importance of intense experience over clear recognition and the role of atmospheres in the art of theater. It refers to new materialist approaches that promote relational thinking and explore the ecological dimensions of being in and with the environment. The text also refers to posthumanist approaches that promote a more relational and non-human perspective on the world. It argues that humans should no longer be seen as the effect of discursive practices, but as intertwined with their environment and in a dynamic relationship with other actors. The production "Die Ruhe" by the theater collective SIGNA is described, which involves the audience in an immersive experience and addresses the longing for nature. The connection between organism and environment is also discussed, and the production is seen as a commentary on relational epistemologies. The text also deals with the topic of mystical immersion and union with God, but criticizes the tendency of some ecological theories to negate human centrality. It emphasizes the importance of recognizing the boundaries between inside and outside and promoting diversity of perspectives and dialogicity.
