- Abstract
This article discusses a study conducted in India on the rate of oropharyngeal Chlamydia trachomatis (CT) infection among men who have sex with men (MSM). The study found that 7% of MSM attending an STI clinic tested positive for CT in the oropharyngeal site. Genotype D was the most common genotype detected. The study highlights the need for further research on extragenital CT screening in MSM and the formulation of screening and testing recommendations. It is important to note that the study had limitations due to the small number of CT positive patients.
