The article presents a reprint of a study by J. Stanley Marshall of Florida State University, which was presented at the 34th annual meeting of the National Association for Research in Science Teaching held February 24, 1961 at the Pick-Congress Hotel in Chicago, Illinois. He discusses the readability and comprehension of high school physics textbooks in the United States.
