- Title
Thatcher's Children: Exploring the Links between Age and Political Attitudes.
- Authors
Russell, A. T.; Johnston, R. J.; Pattie, C. J.
- Abstract
The article examines the influence of former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher on the political attitudes of the British electorate. Based on their analysis, the authors suggest that Thatcher had an impact on the most impressionable voters. They also point out that the so-called Thatcherite ideology on the strong state may have been acceptable. Nonetheless, the ideology's views on the free economy have not been accepted and have resulted to a relatively left-wing intake.
