- Abstract
The article focuses on a microwave heating technique to develop aluminum oxide coating on aluminum. Microwave heating occurs in a polar ceramic that converts the energy absorbed from oscillating field into thermal energy of lattice. Different microwave exposure time in air can be used to develop aluminum oxide coatings of different thickness on aluminum. The coating thickness varied as a function of microwave exposure time. This technique may be employed to develop oxidation and corrosion resistant oxide coating of specified thickness and properties by minor adjustments of the parameters.
