- Abstract
The present research with a quantitative approach, non-experimental research design, correlational and descriptive scope, aims to address the types of linguistic interference and its relationship with the level of foreign language (FL) proficiency. These linguistic interferences are evidenced in the process of learning a foreign language by making alterations at the time of oral or written production in the FL. Due to this, the present research aims to establish the relationship between the levels of English foreign language proficiency (A2 and B2) according to the Common European Framework of Reference and the linguistic interference of Spanish as a mother tongue at the syntactic, lexical, and morphological levels in the written production in FL (English) of anecdotetype narrative texts in students of Modern Languages. On the other hand, the present research is based on concepts such as interlanguage, linguistic interference, and its types; morpho-lexical and syntactic language levels; language interference evaluation measures; text, text types, narrative text, and anecdote genre and language proficiency levels. In addition, the research process will be divided into four phases: 1. Design, validation, and piloting of instruments. 2. Instrument application. Tabulation and analysis of results. Triangulation of information. Finally, the data will be collected through an English test, surveys addressed to teachers and students, a written test of the anecdote type narrative text; this with the purpose of registering information on the linguistic interferences that are presented in the written production at the syntactic, lexical and morphological level in the texts of the students.
