- Abstract
This article reports on a medical case of a 31-year old nurse, who developed a severe bullous eruption of the face, neck, ears and forearms, 12-24 hrs. after she pruned an ivy bush. The ivy, she pruned was identified as Hedera helix. The patch tests to the crushed leave were positive. Though there is a general tendency of contact dermatitis developed against the Hedera canariensis species of ivy which requires frequent pruning but contact allergy to ivy is unusual considering the popularity and prevalence of the plant in Great Britain.
