- Abstract
The article focuses on the experiment that evaluates the efficacy of a multi-faceted pedestrian safety program in three Canadian cities. Motorists and pedestrians at the most problematic crosswalks in three Canadian cities: St John's Newfoundland; Fredericton, New Brunswick; and Moncton-Dieppe, New Brunswick, participated in this experiment. period. Small incentives were given to motorists who yielded to pedestrians. A traffic engineering intervention was also included in order to further ensure the safety of pedestrians.
