- Abstract
In an article published in Advanced Energy Materials, researchers Norbert Jux, Dirk M. Guldi, and their colleagues discuss their synthesis and study of nitrogen-doped molecular nanographenes. By introducing nitrogen, the researchers were able to create coordination compounds with ruthenium porphyrin. The lateral π-extension of the nanographenes resulted in an unusual anti-Kasha emission in the uncoordinated molecule, while in the coordination compounds, it led to a ping-pong energy transfer cascade. This research provides valuable insights into the properties and potential applications of nitrogen-doped molecular nanographenes.
