PIMPING IDA.
- Authors
Malik, Kenan
- Abstract
The article offers information on the publicity around Ida, the 47-million-year-old primate fossil. It states that Ida had originally been discovered by an amateur fossil hunter in 1983 at the Messel pit in Germany. It shows that the anonymous fossil hunter splits the fossil into two, restoring the smaller part and fabricating it to make it look more complete. Meanwhile, the complete fossil has been sold to collector Burkhard Pohl of the Wyoming Dinosaur Center museum.
