- Abstract
The article discusses a study that tests the efficacy of hepatitis B virus (HBV) genotyping in determining the pathogenesis of the virus. Researchers used samples from 66 HBsAg-positive blood donors in Southwestern Iran for HBV genotyping. The genotypes were determined through direct sequencing polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and multiplex nested PCR. The study revealed that genotype D is the most prevalent genotype in the said area.
