- Abstract
The reconstruction of the dental arches by means of conjunct gnato-prosthetic devices represents, outside the intended purpose, a stage within the dental-facial engagement. The treatment approach without a previous planning and without anticipating the result more often leads to failure from a functional point of view. Aesthetic issues are very often difficult to solve as they represent a combination of factors which contribute to the achieving of the dynamic functional-aesthetic balance. It is recognised that the function and the aesthetics are finally and dynamically balanced finally contributing to the accomplishment of the psychical balance. The planning of the prosthetic treatment without phasing the occlusal treatment and without aesthetic planning would eventually generate inadvertences within the final challenge -- the dental and facial reconcilement. The positioning of frontal maxillary and mandibular teeth as well as the coordination of the mechanism at this level corroborated with the aesthetic protocol represents the purpose and result of our studies. The analysis, the planning and the treatment should typically observe a logical phasing having an impact on dental manual labours which finally converge to the aesthetical harmonisation with function.
