- Abstract
Objective: To report a rare benign polypoid tumour of the palatine tonsil. Materials and Method: We report a case of a foreign body sensation over the left side of throat. Clinical examination revealed a pedunculated mass from left tonsil extending into hypopharynx, encroaching tip of epiglottis. Results: Patient underwent tonsillectomy and HPE reported benign hamartomatous polyp of the tonsil. Follow up showed complete recovery with no recurrence. Conclusion: Benign lesion from palatine tonsil is rare, therefore it pose diagnostic challenge. It can provoke anxiety in patient. Once diagnosed, surgical removal is curative.
