- Abstract
The article discusses the physical growth and sexual maturation of girls. It presents photographs, physical measurements, and X-rays which are taken of the same children at regular intervals from birth to maturity. It cites the menarcheal ages in girls and the photos illustrate the sequence of events in the process of sexual maturation. It also illustrates the last stage of juvenile development and the first noticeable signs of initial breast development. It also cites the appearance of initial pubic hair and an example of an early maturing girl.
