- Title
Giving from our Bodily Belongings: Is Donation an Appropriate Paradigm for the Giving of Bodies and Body Parts?
- Authors
O’Neill, Fiona
- Abstract
The article discusses considerations concerning cadaverous donation or donation of body organs for transplantation. It highlights the understanding about organ donation and its origins, and the perception about the sense of belongingness of the body organs of human being. It argues that organ donation should not necessarily be considered as the appropriate practice in giving organs of human body for transplantation, citing the research from the United Kingdom Organ Donation Taskforce (UKODT).
