- Abstract
The present study was carried out to observe the effect of sub-lethal concentration of lead on Oxygen consumption rate of rohu (Labeo rohita). The acute toxicity value (LC50) was found to be 31.5 ppm and two concentrations were selected for sub acute studies i.e.,1/10th (3.15 ppm) and 1/5th (6.3 ppm) of LC50 for a period of 28 days. Oxygen consumption rate was observed which showed significant changes during the exposure period. The lowest oxygen consumption rate (0.008729 mg/l/g/hr) was found in 1/5th concentration of LC50 (6.3 ppm) on 28th day of the study.
