- Abstract
The paper points out that the pangs and lacerations of a man, unless properly articulated and redressed, could make him a psychic case, but if he has a strong determination and creative powers, he could transform them into literary pieces. This is what Srivastava did. The absence of his father's love and care did hurt him psychically but with his strong will power, he not only moved forward in his educational and professional fields but transformed his agonies and frustrations by articulating them in his novels and short stories. When his colleagues, out of jealousy, placed obstacles and road blocks in his way, he overcame them courageously and then continued to work steadily towards the materializations of his dreams. Some of his creative writings, particularly his short stories, are transformations of his personal psychic wounds which he suffered in his childhood, young age, in his teaching profession and even after his retirement from the university service.
