- Abstract
This article presents an abstract for the paper "Loss of Lanolin Patch Test Positivity," by A.J. Carmichael, I.S. Foulds and Deborah Bransbury. Once contact sensitivity has been demonstrated, patients can relatively easily avoid lanolin and thereby minimize further stimulation of the immune response. The absence of a positive response to lanolin in 65 % of patients retested after 1 year raises questions concerning the long-term significance of an isolated positive patch test to lanolin in particular, and for allergic contact dermatitis in general.
