Calciphylaxis: A Case Study.

- Abstract
The article presents a case study of a 57 year old woman who had a history of stage 5 chronic kidney disease and was admitted to the hospital because of severe leg pain and left upper thigh leg ulcers. The patient was diagnoses with calciphylaxis or calcific uremic arteriolopathy (CUA), a disorder that usually occurs in patients with end stage renal disease. The treatment options and the need of collaboration of nurses, pain specialists and surgeons for for treatment are all discussed.
