This article states analgesic/anti-inflammatory drugs should be effective to ensure proper healing of sick animals and meloxicam is the anti-inflammatory drug frequently used on pig farms in Australia, though now it appears ketoprofen is better for young pigs and dexamethasone for weaner pigs.
