- Title
ESTIMATING HARMFUL EFFECTS OF CANNABIS AND USE FOR POLICY MAKERS SHIFTING FROM ONE MISTAKE TO THE NEXT?
- Authors
WITTCHEN, HANS‐ULRICH
- Abstract
In this article, the author discusses aspects of the debate by MacLeod & Hickman who reportedly criticize the idea that the use of cannabis is largely seen from the criminal justice perspective instead of evaluating it from the public health and science perspective. He is critical of the more general issue that policy makers and the press seldom consider issues on science and public health. He comments on the authors' idea on the harmful effects of cannabis and its association to tobacco use.
