- Abstract
In the last decades a significant increase in the number of complaints has been reported to the Ethics Committee. Thus, the probability to be reported is a growing concern for the professional community of psychologists. However, deontological and ethical investigations are still very limited, and there are hardly any real data on reported complaints registered at the Ethics Committee. This paper presents the results of a descriptive analysis into the complaints dealt with by the COPC Ethics Committee registered from 1998 to 2011. In this study, 324 complaints were attended albeit only 20% brought to the opening of disciplinary proceedings. Even more, the legal area is clearly the professional field with the highest number of complaints (85%). Also, the most prevalent complaints reasons are, the evaluation without exploration and the partiality.
