- Abstract
Objective Discuss the clinical characteristics of Gilbert syndrome (GS) and how reduced calorie intake test may be used to help to identify these patients. Methods Clinical analysis of the GS data and a review of literature. Results and conclusions: GS is a relatively common genetic disease. Liver biopsy generally does not help to identify these patients. Reduced calorie intake test appears to be a simple and effective diagnostic method. GS generally doesn't need to be treated specially. Phenobarbitone can be used for short-term treatment.
