- Abstract
The article presents a case study of a 59-year-old man who was referred for the management of a hepatic lesion. Abdominal ultrasonography revealed a hypoechoic lesion 1 cm in size after examination for chronic hepatitis B and C. Biochemical investigation results indicated mild elevations in plasma levels. It discusses the stepwise carcinogenesis of hepatocellular carcinoma in a nodule surrounded by hyperplastic and hypervascular liver tissue.
