- Abstract
In the article "Sandpit casuistics. Remarks on student group work in case-reconstructive university teaching," authors Hannes König and Eike Wolf discuss the significance of student group work in casuistic teaching. They note that group work is widespread in casuistic teaching and also dominates empirical research on casuistics. The authors emphasize two important findings: firstly, students often view group work as a "student job" and approach it pragmatically. Secondly, they discuss the crisis of case determination, which is considered a critical threshold for the acquisition of professionalism in casuistic teaching. However, the authors criticize that the social formatting of group work is insufficiently considered in previous analyses of casuistic interaction practices.
