- Abstract
The article focuses on the study on the correlation of fluke width (FW) and body length (BL) in humpback whales (Megaptera novaeangliae), which can be using as a covariate of ecological and behavioral traits. The study uses all available data from literature on FW and BL for humpback whales, as well as measurements from stranded humpback whales in Brazil. It concludes that evidence of mate preference in humpback whales indicates a positive correlation between reproductive success and body size.
