The article discusses a study which determined whether adherence to the original or revised Surgical Care Improvement Project Perioperative ß-Blocker (SCIP-BB) measure is associated with decreased cardiovascular adverse events. Topics covered include the design, setting and participants in the study, measures used in the association analyses between adherence to the original and revised SCIP-BB measures, and relevance of the study.
