- Abstract
Oil Red stain (D) showed the presence of extracellular lipid droplets and some macrophages with intracytoplasmic lipids. Computed tomography (CT) scan showed patched areas of crazy paving pattern, compatible with incipient exogenous lipoid pneumonia (LP) (Fig. A 57-year-old woman with history of dysthymia was admitted to the intensive care unit after a suicide attempt by ingestion of 200 mL of liquid dishwashing detergent, followed by incoercible vomits and massive bronchoaspiration with respiratory failure.
