- Abstract
The article focuses on the study regarding the use of luciferase reporter assay to identify potential skin-whitening compounds. It states that the reporter assay was established by measuring the tyrosinase promoter activity for screening of new melanogenesis inhibitors. It reveals that 10 skin-whitening compounds including apigenin, luteolin, and galangin increased the luciferase activity twice the untreated control cells. Moreover, carnosol and rottlerin inhibited tyrosinase promoter activity.
