- Abstract
The article presents a study on the therapeutic use of pumpkin paste concentrate and its components, trigonelline (TRG), and nicotinic acid (NA), among diabetic Goto-Kakizaki (GK) rats. The oral glucose tolerance test proved that the pumpkin paste can effectively improve glucose tolerance. It also shows that TRG and NA can suppress both triglyceride (TG) accumulation and the progression of diabetes since their activities are closely associated with these processes.
