Examines the selectivity of the inhibitory activity of mispyric acid, a novel natural triterpene dicarboxylic acid, against mammalian DNA polymerases. Similarity of the effects of enantiomer of mispyric acid to those of the natural compounds; Lack of inhibitory effect of derivatives of compounds 1 and 2 with hydroxyl groups instead of carboxyl groups on mammalian pols.
