- Abstract
This article presents a study related to cobalt-selenium interactions in the nutrition of rat. Evidence for a possible interaction between cobalt and selenium in sheen nutrition has accumulated in recent years in Western Australia in high rainfall districts where both trace elements may be present in soils and plants in marginal or deficient amounts. The only significant selenium responsive condition so far found in Western Australia is white muscle disease in young lambs and in weaners. A preliminary investigation of a possible cobalt-selenium interaction was conducted in rats and is here reported.
