- Abstract
The manure and urine produce by the cows in the dairy farm can be treated, and use the biogas residue and biogas slurry for the irrigation of pastures. The pasture is then provided to the dairy cattle to form a part of circular agriculture. This experiment set up a construction of demonstration fami in Hualien Ji-Jheng ranch, which raised 920 dairy cattle and produced 3,600 metric tons of manure and 26,000 metric tons of wastewater a year. The manure would be composted and used to improve the soil of the pasture. The wastewater would be composted as sludge (1%), biogas residue and biogas slurry would be used to irrigate the pasture (70%), and recycled water for grassland irrigation and manure ditch flushing (29%) respectively. The irrigation area of grassland was 5.28 hectares, and the Pennisetum could be harvested 4 times a year. In the future, the biogas power generation plan is planned to use manure as the main material for femientation, and collect methane for power generation to reduce carbon emissions. Therefore, by setting up a construction of demonstration farm for full recycling utilization of agricultural surplus resources, introduces the technology to the dairy industiy and improves the value-added benefits of the agricultural and animal husbandry cycle to the dairy farm economy and environment, and provides Taiwan's dairy farms with an opportunity to imitate and expand applications.
