- Abstract
The article offers the authors' insights on the Pacific Obesity Prevention in Communities (OPIC) research project, which examines obesity in Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, and Tonga between 2004-09. They say that the study, which carries a community-based obesity prevention intervention, shows a significant reduction in weight gain only in few sites. They suggest there are qualitative components and factors that affect the study including the eating behaviour, teacher participation, and policies.
