- Abstract
The article discusses the history of group camping and nature study in New York's Palisades Interstate Park. The author explains how the park pioneered nature education and natural history study in the early 20th century in collaboration with the American Museum of Natural History (AMNH). Also discussed are Boy Scout camping in the park and the establishment of the Trailside Museums and Nature Trail at Bear Mountain, New York, in 1927.
