- Abstract
This article regularly covers international news concerning film, television, and video archives. Items of note for February 2004 include: the announcement that the Human Studies Film Archives of the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History has identified a 35mm print as the only existing copy of "Life on the Border"; digital materials about the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the U.S. acquired by the Library of Congress; Grants awarded by the Film Foundation and the National Film Preservation Foundation for the preservation of avant-garde films and lists the American "orphan" films to be preserved by the foundation; the appointment of Gregory A. Lukow at the Motion Picture, Broadcasting and Recorded Sound Division of the Library of Congress.
