- Abstract
The article offers information regarding women of the U.S. who report treatment for pelvic inflammatory disease (PID). According to data revealed from the National Center for Health Statistics, a decrease in the ratio of such women have been witnessed from 14% in 1982 to 11% in 1988. Factors associated with PID amongst Whites and African American differ. Whereas , in whites, history of PID is said to be associated with number of sexual partners, age, marital status and sexually transmitted diseases, amongst African American women number of sexual partners and STD history determine it.
