Implementation and evaluation of a harm-reduction model for clinical care of substance using pregnant women.
- Abstract
The article presents a study related to the program by the Perinatal Addiction Treatment Clinic of Hawaii funded by the Hawaii State Legislature, mentioning the use of Methamphetamine (MA) during pregnancy. Drug used data, urine toxicology, meconium toxicology on the infants were considered. With the Edinburgh Post-Partum depression scale, post-partum depression was measured in mothers. Outcome of varied results were discussed with the use of drugs such as marijuana, cocaine and opiates.
