- Title
Histamine and asthma: an appraisal based on specific H.
- Authors
HOWARTH, P. H.
- Abstract
The article focuses on the implications of histamine in asthma based on the studies performed with terfenadine and astemizole. It says that studies with terfenadine have confirmed the findings that the inhibition of bronchoconstriction with allergen and exercise is likely indicative of H1-antihistamines. It concludes that investigations of high-dose H1-antihistamines in mild allergic asthma have produced little improvements in symptom scores and airflow limitation indices.
