An essay is presented regarding teaching skills to women for properly running a household and manage household budget through proverbes inédits by Madame de Maintenon, second wife of King Louis XIV of France. Topics discussed include helping young aristocratic women to adapt to a new lifestyle brought on by economic and social change; promoting feminism and understanding of microeconomics by women; and teaching women to be self-sufficient.
