Teenagers' hearing at risk from overuse of loud MP3 players.
- Abstract
The article discusses research conducted in the Netherlands on the use of MP3 digital music players by teenagers. The study found that approximately 90 percent of teenagers used such devices regularly while wearing earphones, that a majority played them at high volumes, and took no precautions against hearing damage. More frequent users were more likely to listen to music at high volume.
