- Abstract
The article discusses a case of an unusual cause of hemorrhagic left pleural effusion. A contrast-enhanced saccular mass, five centimeter in diameter, appended to the descending aorta at the T8 level is shown by the a computed tomography scan. Rupture is the main complication of mycotic aneurysm of the aorta apart from uncontrolled sepsis. Antibiotic therapy and surgery are combined for the treatment of aortic mycotic aneurysms.
