- Abstract
The article presents a study that examines the factors and mechanisms that control the sorption of aromatic ionizable organic compounds (AIOC) to DHTMA- and polydiallyldimethyl ammonium (PDADMA)-modified montmorillonites. It observes two aromatic sulfonates, 4-methyl-2, 6-dinitrophenol, and tannic acid, which are added with commercial aromatic compounds (AC) as sorbent. It outlines the findings of the study, which shows the potential of HDTMA- and PDADMA-exchanged montmorillonites as accurate sorbents for AICOs in water, as well as wastewater treatments.
