- Abstract
The article discusses a study which assesses the restoration of the degraded coastal habitat of grass specie Spartina foliosa to support the nesting of endangered bird light-footed clapper in California. The study found that urea application increases the height of Spartina but it is not sufficient to attract bird nesting because canopies were too short and soils remained coarse. Thorough assessments of restoration efforts are suggested prior to making management recommendations.
