- Abstract
The article discusses the need for hydrogen fuel cell gas stations if such fuel cells are to become a significant source of power in the future. The article reports on a study on heat-exchange pressure swing adsorption (HE-PSA) in a compact space at a hydrogen station. The bed which was designed was compared to already existing beds by utilizing a quaternary mixture made of steam-reforming reactions in natural gas. The harmful exothermic and endothermic heat effects that corresponded with the adsorption and desorption steps were diminished by the adsorption beds. This enables the bed sizes to be made smaller.
