- Title
Time-Dependent Confounding in Tuberculosis Treatment Outcome Analyses: A Review of a Source of Bias.
- Authors
Rodriguez, Carly A.; Sy, Karla Therese L.; Mitnick, Carole D.; Franke, Molly F.
- Abstract
The article focuses on the clinical trial to address critical questions about whether biomarkers can inform the response to treatment and whether they might be used to guide therapy, as most sepsis patients present with acute kidney injury (AKI). It mentions changes in urinary TIMP-2 (tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinases-2) and IGFBP7 (insulin-like growth factor–binding protein 7) following initial fluid resuscitation identify sepsis patients with differing risk for progression of AKI.
