- Abstract
The article offers information on the trend of yields and the implications on the investments of life insurance companies, commercial banks and mutual savings banks. It states that the number of savers and investors in savings and loan associations, were 4.3 million in 1936, and it has increased to 10.7 million. It presents that the implications of the trends of financial institutions can be considered under their effects upon investment policy and their effects on general operating policy. It mentions that the net investment yield of life company funds of the U.S. was 2.88 percent in 1947, however, there has been a moderate recovery since then.
