- Abstract
The article presents a case study about a 58-year-old cocaine-using man who developed mild dystonia with risperidone and severe dystonia with aripiprazole. The man has a past psychiatric history of attention-deficit or hyperactivity disorder and panic disorder with agoraphobia while his past medical history includes hypertension, lumbar spondylosis, and hepatitis C. He switched to aripiprazole 10 milligram (mg) nightly after complaining of a mild stiffness in his jaw which resulted to taking of risperidone 2 mg. The authors suggest that dystonic reactions would be rare and the addition of anticholinergic agents may be needed.
