- Abstract
The article discusses the challenges and complexities of diagnosing and treating cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL), a rare group of non-Hodgkin lymphomas that primarily affect the skin. The lack of standardized approaches and specialized training programs for skin lymphoma specialists in Europe has led to divergent approaches in patient care. The HORIZON program, which involved clinical and research rotations across five European centers, aimed to address this gap and foster a collaborative global network. The rotations provided valuable insights into diagnostics, therapeutics, and research methodologies, including the use of advanced techniques and technologies. Consistency was observed in adopting both traditional and newer treatments, aligning with the latest guidelines. The involvement of clinical nurse specialists, particularly in the UK, was noted as an opportunity for holistic and comprehensive patient-centered care. The program has laid the groundwork for a collaborative network and ongoing research projects. A second program is planned for 2025. The article was funded by Kyowa Kirin International PLC, and the authors declare no conflicts of interest.
