- Abstract
The article describes the apparent use of a rock crevice as a nocturnal roost by a ruby-crowned kinglet, or Regulus calendula, an insectivorous cup-nesting species. Topics covered the locations where the bird breeds, the rate of metabolism per unit weight in birds and mammals and the winter roosting strategies of two species, namely, golden-crowned kinglet, or Regulus satrapa, and goldcrest, or Regulus regulus.
